Free local front porch delivery is available for orders of $50 or more to Rockland and surrounding towns (see list and days below.) 

FOR IN-STOCK BOOKS: Orders for in-stock books will need to be placed at least 24 hours in advance to give us time to process and prepare them for delivery (since we're coordinating with another business's delivery grid.) For example, if you live in Camden and want to have an in-stock book delivered on Tuesday, you have to place your order by 8 a.m. on Monday morning; if you're in Rockland and want a book for Friday, your order must be in by 8 a.m. on Thursday.

FOR BOOKS THAT AREN'T IN STOCK: After you place your order, most books will arrive at the store within 7-10 days, and after they've been received they'll be delivered to you on whichever day is next for your town. If you've ordered a combo of in-stock and special order books, please note that your order will be delivered *only once all books have arrived.*

Deliveries are available to the following towns on the following days: 

Rockland: Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays
Camden & Rockport: Tuesdays & Fridays
Thomaston: Wednesdays & Thursdays
Owls Head, South Thomaston, St George & Port Clyde: Mondays
Warren: Wednesdays

Deliveries will be contactless; please leave any special instructions on where best to leave your package in the notes of your order. Please note that delivery orders are made at your own risk, and we can't be held responsible for theft or damage once the order has been delivered.

These deliveries are courtesy of Rock City Coffee Roasters, who have graciously offered to include us on their delivery route--please shower them with love, support and coffee bean orders to show your thanks!


Please note: Orders for curbside pickup, especially for books we have to order in, will not be available immediately. Once your order is ready for pickup, we'll be in touch! Please make sure you've given us an email address you check frequently, or leave your cell phone number if we can text you.


We're happy to report that we've improved our system for pickups to make it a whole lot more flexible for you. Here's what you do:
 
  • Order new and/or used books on our primary website, www.hellohellobooks.com, and choose "pick up" when you get to the shipping options.
  •  
  • Order cards, journals, merchandise and gifts at our secondary website, www.hellosnailmail.com. (If you're ordering from both sites for pickup, write "please combine with my book order!" in the order notes.)
  •  
  • Wait to get a notification from us (text is easiest, but we can also email or call) that your order is ready for pickup. If your order is a combination of things in stock and things we have to order in, our default is notify you when all of your items are in--but if you prefer to pick up the in-stock items earlier, just let us know!   
  •  
  • After you get notification that your order is ready for pickup, you can do so 7 days a week between 7 am and 2 pm, through Rock City Cafe. They are now open for walk-in business (you must wear a mask and observe social distancing) so you can walk in and ask the cafe counter staff to grab your order for you, or you can call ahead at 207-594-4123 to ask them to set it outside for you outside our shared Orient Street side doors.

     

    We're so grateful to Rock City for offering this service, since it allows us to make it available more days of the week, and gives you the flexibility to pick it up without having to wonder if bookstore staff are currently available, especially as we are now offering in-person shopping appointments and aren't always able to get to the phone. (Plus it's a good excuse to come get some coffee and/or food that you didn't have to make yourself!)
